This sports helps you to get rid of your belly fat
We already knew that belly fat is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. But getting rid of that belly is not that simple. Research by the University of Hong Kong among 500 over-50s shows that tai chi is the appropriate form of exercise. It also has a beneficial effect on your weight and cholesterol.
But what exactly is tai chi?
Tai chi focuses on flowing and constant movements from posture to posture. These movements are performed quietly, slowly and continuously. Interestingly, this form of movement is also suitable for all ages.
Other benefits:
-It strengthens the muscles
-Teaches you to bring your attention to the here and now (mindfulness)
-Breathing is slow and natural
-Gain control over your movement and balance
-With seniors it is often used as a means of fall prevention (because the deep structural muscles are strengthened and thus stability improves)
-Freely accessible, even if you are less fit or mobile
