Donald Trump could send nuclear weapons to Ukraine
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy might receive the ultimate weapon to defeat Vladimir Putin and his army, according to one expert.
After Donald Trump’s victory in last November’s presidential election, the billionaire is set to take office in January. While he has claimed he could end the war in a single day, one expert suggests he might take a different approach—one that could hand victory to Kyiv.
Nicholas Drummond, a security and defense expert, speculated that Trump might ultimately send nuclear warheads to Ukraine.
"A deal could be done very quietly, and suddenly Ukraine becomes very powerful. Zelensky can say 'we have nuclear weapons and if you attack us we will bomb Moscow,’" he told The Daily Express.
"It could be Trump's trump card. It could be reckless to give Ukraine nuclear weapons on one hand, on the other, it could restore the balance of peace and power in the region," he added.
Although Donald Trump’s strategy remains unknown, The Wall Street Journal has suggested that a demilitarized zone could be established between the two warring nations. A source close to the incoming president told the American media outlet that the U.S. might also block Ukraine from joining NATO for the next 20 years.
Meanwhile, with Donald Trump returning to the White House, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed optimism about the possibility of ending the conflict next year.
