Trump's representative on Ukraine to visit Kiev
Ukrainian authorities have confirmed that US President-elect Donald Trump’s special envoy for Russia and Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, will visit Ukraine soon.
“The date of this visit is predetermined, but I will not announce it for security reasons. I can confirm that we are expecting General Kellogg in Ukraine,” Foreign Ministry spokesman, Georgii Tihii, told a news conference.
Sources cited by Bloomberg said earlier this week that Kellogg plans to visit Ukraine in January and would also be willing to visit the Russian capital, Moscow, if invited by the Kremlin authorities.
President-elect Trump will take office on January 20, and a visit to Kiev by his special envoy for Russia and Ukraine would be a significant step by the new US administration in its efforts to end hostilities between the two sides.
