Man kept deceased mother in freezer for years
On the Italian island of Sardinia, a 54-year-old man from Sarroch hid his late mother's body in a freezer for years. He did so so he could continue to collect her pension.
The 78-year-old woman is believed to have been dead for two years: she may have died a natural death during the corona pandemic.
Police discovered the body, completely covered in ice, during a search of the house after neighbours noticed they had not seen her for a long time. The man is now charged with serious fraud and hiding a body. The fraud allegedly netted him several thousand euros.
