Zelensky wants guarantees from President Trump to negotiate
Negotiations between Ukrainian representatives and the team of newly-elected US President Donald Trump could take place in early February.
“At the beginning of February, Ukraine Week will take place in Washington. I think the main processes and negotiations with Trump's new team will take place there. So we're waiting,” said Davyd Arakhamia, a member of Zelensky's staff.
Ukraine Week is an outreach event designed to strengthen cooperation between Ukraine and the United States. The initiative comprises a variety of events, including thematic forums, roundtables and meetings that bring together representatives from both countries. The main objective of the event is to discuss important issues related to deepening partnerships.
Before sitting down to negotiate with Russia, President Volodymyr Zelensky would like to receive guarantees from President Trump.
