Toddler (4) accidentally destroys 3,500-year-old jar in museum
A curious 4-year-old wanted to know if there was anything inside the ancient jar he came across in an Israeli museum. But the toddler accidentally broke the 3,500-year-old artifact.
“He pulled a bit on the jar, after which the object tipped over and fell,” dad Alex told British newspaper The Guardian. Immediately afterwards, the child burst into tears. “I was in shock at first,” the father says. “And I was also a little angry with him.” The man and his wife calmed their son and spoke to a security guard at the Hecht Museum in Haifa, telling him what had happened. The director was called in.
Fortunately, the museum director understood very well that no malicious intent was involved, so the police were not called in. An expert has since begun to restore the jar.
