Putin: 'Conflict in Ukraine has taken on global character'
Russian president Vladimir Putin responded in a speech Thursday to Ukraine's attack with U.S. long-range missiles earlier this week. Moreover, the Kremlin leader stressed that Russia could not rule out attacking the countries from which Ukraine uses weapons.
“From that moment on, as we have emphasized before, the conflict provoked by the West has taken on a global character,” Putin said, claiming that the Ukrainian attacks have ”failed.”
“We believe that it is our right to use our weapons against the military installations of countries that allow the use of their weapons against our installations,” he echoed.
Further, Putin also stressed that Thursday morning's attack on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro with an intercontinental long-range ballistic missile (ICBM) was a response to Ukraine's use of American and British long-range missiles. “The test was successful and the goal has been achieved,” Putin said.
