A vegetarian alternative to your classic Christmas dinner
Why not think about the animals and serve less (no) meat during the Christmas period? There are plenty of vegetarian alternatives for your traditional Christmas dinner. So even your vegetarian relatives can enjoy Christmas with you. And no, you do not always have to search for meat substitutes in the supermarket.
You will also be able to make the people who have decided to eat less meat happy. Whatever your motives are for cutting down on meat; it's already healthy for yourself and the environment. Whether you want to cook a complete Christmas menu or just a few dishes, it's still nice and cozy to dine without anyone going home hungry.
If you have decided to put some vegetarian dishes on the Christmas menu, you will find that you do not need so many other ingredients; maybe just a little more creativity.
Here are some inspiring tips:
-Appetizers, which of course can also be served for all your guests: beet carpaccio, camembert in the oven, stuffed peppers, beet or tomato tartare, vegetarian soup or salad, chickpea salad with hummus, stuffed mushrooms ...
Of course, these appetizers can also be served as main dishes.
-Main dish: vegetarian gourmet, eggplant (or sweet potato or zucchini) with goat cheese, cheese fondue, vegetarian casserole with greens, vegetarian quiche/vegetable tarts, pasta with pesto cream sauce ...
-Dessert: here you have a lot of choice because desserts usually do not contain meat: tiramisu, cake, cheese plate, crème brûlée, vanilla ice cream, sorbet, chocolate mousse ...
