Wanted: Who has seen this car?

The very first Aston may not have disappeared! Aston Martin Heritage Trust is looking for the 'Coal Scuttle', the very first one created by the brand. This model was manufactured in 1914.

Aston Martin was founded in 1913 as Bramford & Martin. Aston Martin was the name of the first car designed by the garage. It was intended to compete with Bugatti. It was soon renamed the 'Coal Scuttle' because of its shape that is reminiscent of a coal scuttle. It was able to drive at 115 km/h. After 10 years of loyal service, making the brand known on the markets and roads of the United Kingdom, the car was sold by the company in 1924 for £50. After that, it disappeared from the radar.

Garage background

But there is still hope. The search for this priceless piece of British luxury car brand Aston Martin's ancient history is underway. The Aston Martin Heritage Trust is asking car enthusiasts around the world to check their garages, outbuildings, barns and shops for any potential trace of the missing car. Even a piece of the 'A1' chassis would be an important discovery. Besides, this chassis may have accommodated a car body that was added to it later on. Who knows?

Ladies and gentlemen, treasure hunters, go!
