Concert: The Human League, the kings of English synth pop from the 80s
They celebrated the 40th anniversary of the iconic "Dare" in 2021 and continue to beautifully maintain the flame of a glorious past
On November 30 2024 The Human League performed in a completely sold out De Roma in Antwerp. It was the 4th show in a row in Belgium after Le Forum (Liège), l'Ancienne Belgique (Brussels) and a first one at De Roma the night before.
The energy was still fresh and immens. It took one back to the 80's: "oversized" synths, Buffalo-shoes, a lot of make-up and last but not least the shoulderfillings that topped your look.
But above all the concert was all about good music, a good old shoe sway and wonderful stage presence. A photographers playground. If you take a look at the reel, you'll get the idea !
Unfortunately, for the moment, the group no longer ends its concerts with "Being Boiled", the first single in 1978. Instead, the relatively dispensable "Together In Electric Dreams" taken from Phil Oakey's album with disco producer Giorgio Moroder back in 1985.
