“To attack all enemy targets”: Kim Jong-un’s frightening new weapon
With a brand new explosive drone, North Korea intends to extend its military power.
On Saturday, North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un supervised the test of this new invention. Suicide drones are equipped with an explosive charge and are used directly on enemy targets, within a radius of a few kilometers, specifies French media La Dépêche.
The KCNA (Korean Central News Agency) stressed that the suicide drones would be used to “attack all enemy targets on land and at sea,” specifying that all the tests on August 24 had been conclusive. The drones being tested “correctly identified and destroyed” the targets set.
According to experts, and based on images broadcast by Pyongyang’s state media, this new explosive weapon probably comes from the result of Russian technologies, themselves obtained from Iran.
Professor at the Higher Institute of Science and Technology of South Korea, Cho Sang-keun, explains that “the suicide drone, reminiscent of the Harop, can fly more than 1,000km.” For him, it's a real threat to South Korea and its critical installations.
