Manchester: Old Trafford stadium infested with mice

Manchester United's Old Trafford stadium is dealing with a mouse infestation, which has impacted the venue’s food hygiene rating.

The stadium, originally built in 1910 and last renovated in 2006, has faced several issues in recent years. These challenges have prompted Sir Daniel Ratcliffe, a shareholder in the English club, to assemble a team to evaluate the possibility of building a new stadium.

Last weekend, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim's press conference was interrupted due to a leak—a recurring issue within the aging infrastructure.

According to a recent Daily Mail report, mouse droppings were discovered during a recent inspection. Evidence of mouse activity was also found on the ground floor, in corporate hospitality suites, and at food stands throughout the venue.

The club’s management is now working with pest control companies and the Trafford Council to address the problem.

The pest activity has intensified during the winter months as mice seek warmth within the stadium.
