Goalkeeper Bayern Munich diagnosed with malignant tumor
Bayern Munich's German goalkeeper Maria Luisa Grohs was diagnosed with a malignant tumor. Consequently, the 23-year-old goalkeeper is unavailable indefinitely.
“The whole thing is definitely a challenge I didn't expect to have to face now,” Grohs said in an emotional video on the German superpower's media channels. “But with the help of everyone here, I will definitely overcome it. I am sure I will make it and be completely healthy again.”
In fact, Bayern Munich has decided to extend the 23-year-old goalkeeper's contract, which expires at the end of this season, by one season. “With our contract extension, we want to make a small contribution so that she can focus on her recovery. We want to show her that Bayern is always her home,” said sporting director Max Eberl.
