Belgium misses 2 absolute star players in crackers with Italy and France
Quite a major setback for national coach Domenico Tedesco.
Tedesco cannot count on Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku for the upcoming Nations League games against Italy and France. By the way, De Bruyne had a good talk with the national coach and the folds seem to have been smoothed out again after the incident at the previous game against France. But KDB suffered an injury in the Champions League match against Inter and will not be fit enough for the next two internationals. Consequently, the Red Devils will have to do without their captain in the two tough matches ahead.
Another person who will not be there is the Red Devils' all-time top shooter (85 goals). Romelu Lukaku is not yet in good shape and wants to take advantage of the two-week international break to prepare for a long and intensive season of league, cup and European football with Napoli.
In turn, the absence of these two star players gives coach Tedesco the chance to try new things in the Nations League as preparation for the 2026 World Cup in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
