Jimmy Carter: The UFO encounter he never explained
Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, who passed away late last week, once revealed that he had seen a UFO in 1969, though he never provided extensive details about the experience.
The former Democratic leader waited until 1973 to share specifics of what he described as a close encounter.
Jimmy Carter recounted seeing an orb in the Georgia sky that shone as brightly as the moon. He later added that the orb seemed to move toward him, describing it as “bluish at first, then reddish, luminous, and not solid.”
While the orb was likely a man-made object, Carter had promised during his 1976 presidential campaign to release files on UFOs.
Despite his election victory, he never publicly revisited the topic of UFOs, stating that disclosing such information could jeopardize national security. However, the late statesman remained fascinated by the possibility of extraterrestrial life throughout his life.
