He wins 32 million euros at the lottery and dies just weeks later
A Brazilian lottery winner passed away just days after hitting the jackpot.
Antonio Lopes, a 73-year-old retired Brazilian, won 32 million euros on November 9. However, the lucky winner didn’t get to enjoy his newfound fortune for long, as he passed away during a medical procedure. Lopes had planned to fix his teeth, which had long been a source of insecurity.
On December 4, Antonio Lopes went to a dental clinic for the procedure but tragically died while on the operating table. His death has prompted an investigation, though initial reports suggest he may have suffered a heart attack.
"If it turns out to be an incident unrelated to the procedure, the clinic cannot be held responsible. We now have to wait for the autopsy and report to determine what really happened," said Edison Pick, the head of the Civil Police.
