Putin to send Oreshnik missiles to Belarus
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has announced that Russia is preparing to deploy its Oreshnik missiles in Belarus next year.
The leader explained that he requested the delivery of these hypersonic missiles from Vladimir Putin as a precaution against escalating tensions with Poland or Lithuania.
Alexander Lukashenko also stated that he is still considering potential locations for deploying the medium-range ballistic missiles.
Last month, Moscow fired this experimental missile for the first time on the city of Dnipro. A few days later, Russian President Vladimir Putin hinted that more of these missiles could be used in Ukraine.
The missile strike was carried out in retaliation after the United States, the United Kingdom, and France authorized Ukrainian forces to use Western-supplied weapons to target Russian territory.
