Surgeon lets daughter (13) mess up operation: patient scarred for life?
An Austrian neurosurgeon went badly wrong by letting her 13-year-old daughter drill a hole in a patient's skull during emergency surgery.
This strange incident took place in an operating theatre of the University Hospital in Graz.
The operation seemed successful at first, but months later the 33-year-old patient still cannot go to work. Why on earth the surgeon made her daughter drill a hole in the skull is not yet clear. The woman has already been discharged and must stand trial. If the female medical specialist is found guilty, she could be sentenced to five years in jail and pay damages.
