Professional gymnast poses for selfie and crashes off mountain
23-year-old Czech professional gymnast Natalie Stichova has died after she fell off a cliff in Germany while posing for a selfie.
The top Czech sportswoman was on vacation and hiking with some friends and her partner on the Tegelberg mountain in Bavaria. At the summit, she wanted to pose for a photo by standing on one leg, but then things went wrong. The professional gymnast fell down, more than 70 meters into the abyss. She was still taken by helicopter to the hospital, but six days later her treatment was halted due to irreversible brain damage.
It is unclear for now whether she slipped, or a piece of the cliff broke off.
