Born on 26 May: Lenny Kravitz, musician and businessman

Music, design, film and even vodka - he's done it all. Born in New York in 1964, Lenny Kravitz is now reaching an important milestone: his sixties!

Lenny Kravitz has always taken great care with his looks, from his dreadlocks to his round sunglasses. Over the last few years, he's also been happy to talk about his philosophy of life, from cardio exercises in the morning to vegan food. PETA has even added him to its list of Most Beautiful Vegan Celebrities in 2022! And this year he was inducted into the prestigious Rock'n Roll Hall Of Fame, an undeniable accolade for musicians of international stature...

He has sometimes been compared to Jimi Hendrix, and indeed his music draws on a wide range of influences: psychedelic rock, hard rock, funk and rhythm 'n blues. And always with that incisive guitar, which he sometimes enjoys torturing in long solos. Since 1989, he has released eleven albums, of which 'Let Love Rule' (1989), 'Mama Said' (1991), 'Are You Gonna Go My Way' (1993) and 'Is It Time For A Love Revolution' (2008) are the most interesting.

Announced by the titles 'Human' and 'Paralyzed', his twelfth opus, entitled 'Blue Electric Light', has just been released on the eve of his birthday.

Lenny Kravitz has other interests besides music. He works with the top-of-the-range German camera brand Leica. In 2003, he also founded Kravitz Design Inc to sell his ideas to the hotel industry and to architectural projects. He even collaborated with the Absolut Vodka brand in 2006. But in the coming months, he will be hitting the road again, taking up his pilgrim's staff for a long series of concerts. Kravitz is active in a variety of fields, and today music is just one of the many paths he takes.
