500-kilogram rocket component falls to earth
A metal object weighing up to 500 kilograms fell down in the village of Mukuku in southern Kenya on 30 December. The piece is believed to have come from a rocket. So announced the Kenyan space agency.
It is a metal ring about two-and-a-half metres in diameter and weighing about 500 kilograms.
According to initial findings, it would be a part of a rocket, which normally burns up in the atmosphere on return to Earth or falls down in uninhabited territory.
