The new weapon the Russians fear: "By the time you hear it, it's already too late"
On June 11, the French company Eos unveiled its new combat weapon: the Veloce 330 suicide drone. This ultra-fast machine can destroy a tank 100 km away.
Speed? Between 400 and 500 km/h. The suicide drone was developed based on real conditions in Ukraine. Thanks to the technologies on board, and in particular a 7 kg explosive charge designed by KNDS France, the Veloce 330 (with a wingspan of 3.3 m) can destroy a heavily armored vehicle at a distance of 100 km. A combat weapon presented and tested last June at a site in Auvergne, near Clermont-Ferrand (France), it has already won over the French military.
Jean-Marc Zuliani, Managing Director of Eos Technology, even guarantees that "its speed and flight profile, close to the ground, make it virtually impossible to intercept," reports French magazine Challenges. "By the time you hear it, it's already too late."
The drone should be operational by 2025. The military will not be able to take advantage of it until 2028. "In the meantime, the machine might well be tested in practice on Ukrainian battlefields by the country's armed forces," Futura-Sciences emphasizes.
