A South Korean report on human rights in North Korea reports the execution of a 22-year-old North Korean man for listening to K-pop, the popular South Korean music genre, and watching and spreading South Korean films.
Kim Jong-un, North Korea's president, has long been battling all kinds of foreign influences, such as K-pop, which he wants to keep out of his country. In turn, South Korea regularly drops USB sticks via balloons in North Korea containing South Korean music and films.
