Firm warning from Putin to U.S. during military chess game
Russian President Vladimir Putin warned the United States Sunday not to place long-range missiles in Germany.
If Washington were to do so anyway, Russia will station similar missiles within "striking distance" of the West. So warns the Russian president.
According to Putin, missiles that the US wants to place in Germany could reach Russian "military, administrative, industrial and defensive infrastructure" within 10 minutes. This situation therefore reminds the Russian leader of the Cold War.
The United States will begin stationing long-range missiles in Germany in 2026.
