"Dragon's teeth" line capable of blocking Russian tanks
Lithuania's defence ministry has unveiled the first of 27 defensive installations it plans to build on its border, featuring obstacles designed to prevent the advance of enemy armoured vehicles or infantry.
The facility is located at the Pabrade military base near the Lithuanian-Belarusian border. It is part of a joint effort by the Baltic states to build a "Baltic defense line" along Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia's borders with Belarus and Russia.
Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurynas Kasciunas visited the base to inaugurate it and inspected the roadblock devices, including concrete "dragon's teeth" lines designed to stop the advance of tanks and other vehicles.
"The first in a series of 27 similar facilities will be equipped with engineering devices, including Czech hedgehogs, roadblocks, dragon's teeth, and cables," Kasciunas said.
