Olympic athlete doused with petrol and set on fire
Rebecca Cheptegei, who was active in the Olympics just last month, has only just survived a gruesome assassination attempt.
The Ugandan marathon runner was attacked by her partner and seriously injured. An argument got firmly out of hand and the partner doused Cheptegei with petrol and then set her on fire. She was transferred to hospital in a critical condition. More than 75 per cent of the Ugandan runner's body was reportedly burnt. The runner is in critical condition in a hospital in the Kenyan city of Eldoret.
The horrific events took place in Trans Nzoian in Kenya, where the marathon runner stays to train.
