Olympic athlete dies after being attacked with gasoline by ex-boyfriend
Rebecca Cheptegei, who was active at the Olympic Games last month, was horribly beaten.
The Ugandan marathon runner was attacked by her ex-partner and seriously injured. An argument got out of hand and the partner doused Cheptegei with gasoline and then set her on fire. She was taken to hospital in critical condition. More than 75 percent of the Ugandan runner's body was burned. The runner was in critical condition for days in a hospital in the Kenyan city of Eldoret. But on Thursday we received the sad news that the Olympic marathon runner did not make it.
The gruesome facts took place in Trans Nzoian in Kenya, where the marathon runner stayed for training.
