Man reunited with his family... 73 years after his abduction

After more than 70 years after he was abducted as a six-year-old, a man in the United States has been reunited with his family.

In 1951, 6-year-old Luis Armando Albino was abducted from a park in West Oakland while playing with his older brother, then 10 years old. More than 70 years later, his niece, Alida Alequin, discovered he was still alive on the east coast of the United States.

She used DNA tests and old newspaper clippings to do so, and received help from police and federal agencies.

Albino, a retired firefighter and US Marine Corps veteran, was raised by another couple in New York after his abduction and lost contact with his biological family.

In June, he was reunited with his family and was able to share emotional moments and memories with his brother Roger, who witnessed the abduction.

Unfortunately, Roger died shortly after the reunion. Albino plans to travel to California again next year.
