Drunk cop frees 13 prisoners on New Year's Eve
On December 31, 2024, in Zambia, a drunken police officer made a radical decision: to seize the keys to several prison cells and free 13 inmates.
Zambian authorities are still looking for the escaped prisoners. The drunken police officer reportedly unlocked the cell doors and ordered them to come out and consider their release as a “gift” for the New Year.
According to a police statement, among the prisoners being sought are “suspects prosecuted for serious crimes". Their release could pose a real risk to public safety.
As reported by Demotivateur, the police officer was arrested shortly after his irresponsible act.
