Meta: Mark Zuckerberg announces end of fact-checkers and less censorship
Mark Zuckerberg has revealed that Meta will eliminate fact-checkers and drastically reduce censorship on its platforms.
In a video statement, the Meta CEO—whose company oversees Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads—announced that more political content will be allowed on its social networks, aiming to better respect the freedom of expression championed by Donald Trump.
Meta’s moderation teams will relocate from California to Texas as part of these changes.
Mark Zuckerberg argued that Meta’s "fact-checkers have just been too politically biased and have destroyed more trust than they’ve created."
