Social media network X could be shut down in 24 hours
This is a threat with an ultimatum. Brazil could suspend the activities and broadcasting of X (formerly Twitter) within 24 hours! A court has ordered Elon Musk to provide the name of a legal representative.
An injunction from Brazilian judge Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court, requires X (formerly Twitter), and therefore Elon Musk, to provide the name and status of the platform's new legal representative in Brazil within 24 hours. Otherwise, the social network will be suspended "immediately" in this South American country.
It's war
The social media network and Brazil have been at loggerheads for several months, prompting Elon Musk to close X's offices in Brazil on August 17, without interrupting user access. The billionaire, who is under judicial investigation, is also crying foul. The Brazilian justice system reminds him of the decision of its courts ordering him to block certain accounts in Brazil for "disinformation". Even though X remains accessible to Brazilians until now, this could change quickly if Elon Musk does not respond to the judge's request.
