"Pollution doesn't exist"
No stranger to controversy, French actor and director Mathieu Kassovitz explained on France Inter that pollutants, such as plastic, are the result of "the tools of the earth. The earth assimilates pollution without any problem."
QuotaClimat, an association committed to better treatment of ecological issues in the media, refers the matter to ARCOM, the Audiovisual and Digital Communication Regulatory Authority. For the environmental association, the actor's statements are scientifically false statements on climate change."
"The actor's theory is as follows: since pollution comes from components already present on Earth, it's a figment of the imagination. The Earth will eventually “assimilate them, since humans are victims, it's not a problem,” explained QuotaClimat in a post published on its X account.
QuotaClimat continues its argument:
"Mathieu Kassovitz suggests that there are neither individuals, nor organizations particularly responsible, nor solutions to the problem of pollution. This is an opinion that contradicts both established scientific facts, and the dignity of populations."
It's a scientific fact that human activities, such as heating, industry and transport emit pollutants and significant emissions of fine particles.
