Man confesses to murder of mother on TV: Italy in shock
Monday afternoon's broadcast of the talk show “Pomeriggio5” on Italian television is causing intense reactions.
Indeed, reporter Fabio Giuffrida descended on Spezzano di Fiorano in the Emilia Romagna region in response to a murder committed there. But then something unexpected happened.
The reporter did not at first realize that the perpetrator was suddenly standing in front of his micro for an interview. Fifty-year-old Lorenzo Carbone suddenly confessed to the reporter that he had strangled his mother.
Perpetrator Carbone was badly upset when he confessed the facts on camera. He said his mother was struggling with dementia and that he “could no longer bear it.” “I strangled her. I don't know why I did that. At times she made me angry because she kept repeating herself.” After the murder, the 50-year-old fled to the nearby town of Pavullo, then later returned to the house he shared with his mother.
Police also saw the interview and had been looking for Lorenzo Carbone since Sunday. That they would immediately get a live testimony with it, the officers probably did not expect.
