Man (33) murders ex-wife in airport parking lot and flees
A 33-year-old Iranian woman was murdered by her ex-husband, also of Iranian nationality, in the parking lot at the airport in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Both perpetrator and victim lived in Klagenfurt, Austria. The woman was murdered by her ex-husband, who ambushed her in the parking lot of Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport.
According to Kranj police, the victim arrived at the airport on a flight from Istanbul at around 7:20 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7. After completing formalities at border control and at the airport, she went alone to a nearby parking lot where she had parked her car. As she approached the vehicle, a man approached her and gruesomely stabbed her. The woman sustained several stab wounds. The ex-husband appeared to have been waiting near the car for a long time. After the murder, he fled in a car with Austrian license plates. But thanks to good cooperation between Slovenian and Austrian police and a European arrest warrant, the 33-year-old Iranian with Austrian residence papers could be apprehended near Klagenfurt. He will be extradited to Slovenia.
