Dutch team finds missing Jay (19) on vacation island
There has been a breakthrough in the disappearance case of British teenager Jay who disappeared in Tenerife almost a month ago.
Thanks to the generous donations of a lot of people, the Lancashire boy's family was able to use the money raised from the GoFundMe to fly in a specialized search team with tracking dogs from the Netherlands to take over the search from Spanish police. On Monday, a Dutch search dog picked up a trail, then Spanish police subsequently found a lifeless body at that spot. It was more than likely 19-year-old Jay. The body found was among Jay's belongings and clothes, according to British missing persons charity LBT Global. "The body was reportedly found near the last location of his cell phone," the organization said in a statement.
In a statement, the Guardia Civil added that the young man may have died from a fall in the rocky area. An autopsy should soon reveal the exact cause of death and identity.
