Cologne explosion: 'surveillance camera shows person leaving bag'
Monday morning around a little after 6 a.m., the center of the German city of Cologne was startled by an explosion. A cleaner was reportedly seriously injured in the process.
The explosion occurred in the dining area of a bar on Hohenzollernring, between Rudolfplatz and Ehrenstrasse. Police immediately cordoned off a large area around the business and are on the scene en masse. Photos show how parts of the ceiling and side walls were destroyed.
Surveillance footage shows a man leaving a bag at the entrance to the bar before the explosion. Whether the suspect may have had accomplices is not yet clear.
