UK: 37,000 illegal migrants crossed the Channel in 2024
Nearly 37,000 undocumented migrants successfully reached the United Kingdom in 2024 by crossing the English Channel in small boats.
The British government released the figures on January 1, revealing that 36,816 migrants made the perilous journey. This marks a 25% increase compared to the previous year but remains below the record number of 45,000 crossings in 2022.
Illegal immigration continues to be a major issue for Downing Street.
Despite the Labour Party's rise to power, no specific policies have been implemented to address the influx of migrant boats.
