New job for former NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg
From 2000 to 2001 and from 2005 to 2013, Jens Stoltenberg was Norway's prime minister. In 2014, the Norwegian politician became secretary general of NATO, which he remained for exactly 10 years. Now he is returning to Norwegian politics.
The now 65-year-old Stoltenberg will become finance minister in the Norwegian government.
“I am deeply honored to have been asked to help my country in this critical phase,” Stoltenberg said in a press release from MSC. “After careful consideration of the challenges we face, I have decided to accept Prime Minister Støre's request.”
