Donald Trump threatens to bypass Congress to impose tariffs and tougher immigration policy

Donald Trump has threatened to bypass Congress to implement additional tariffs and enforce a more extreme immigration policy.

During a two-hour discussion with Republican senators, the president-elect, who will take office on January 20, expressed his intention to swiftly enact his "MAGA vision" without waiting for congressional action, according to The Wall Street Journal.

The billionaire has reportedly already prepared 100 executive orders and appears determined to go beyond that.

According to the report, Donald Trump has been researching old laws for months to identify provisions he can invoke to push through his desired policies.

"The American people can bank on President Trump using his executive power on day one to deliver on the promises he made to them on the campaign trail," Donald Trump’s transition spokesperson, Karoline Leavitt, told The Daily Beast in a statement.

The incoming president aims to streamline the deportation of undocumented migrants while also preventing new arrivals. On the economic front, Donald Trump has made no secret of his plans to impose higher tariffs.
