Does Joe Biden's personal doctor still want to diagnose without bias?
Who exactly is Kevin O'Connor, Joe Biden's personal doctor? This man is hardly known to the general public, but over the years and through family affairs he has developed an almost intimate personal relationship with the President of the United States. Can this man really help Joe Biden understand his state of health? And advise him to forgo a second term? The answer is ...no!
As a colonel in the US Army Reserve and a trained osteopath, Kevin O'Connor (58) joined the White House medical team in 2006 when George W. Bush consulted him for back pain. He then joined Vice President Joe Biden, with whom he developed a very close personal relationship: both come from middle-class backgrounds on the East Coast and also share a devout Catholic faith. The ties between the two men were further strengthened when 'Doc' (as the president calls him) was called to the bedside of Beau Biden, Joe and Jill's eldest son, who died of cancer in 2015.
Today, the relationship between Kevin O'Connor and Joe Biden raises questions and concerns among the American public, which doubts the objectivity and impartiality of the president's medical assessments.
Possible conflict of interest
The proximity of the two men raises questions about Kevin O'Connor's ability to make an impartial assessment of Biden's state of health, particularly in relation to possible cognitive tests. However, his colleagues stressed his honesty and courage in telling the truth.
No cognitive tests
Despite calls from numerous Democratic representatives, O'Connor has never seen fit to subject Joe Biden to cognitive tests, fuelling doubts about the president's ability to perform his duties, especially after his performance was deemed disappointing during a crucial televised debate in which he recently took on Donald Trump.
Involvement in family business
Several sources also report Kevin O'Connor's involvement in financial transactions related to Biden's family business, raising questions about possible conflicts of interest and potentially calling into question his independence in assessing the president's health.
"I take cognitive tests every day," Joe Biden joked when an ABC journalist asked him if he had undergone neuropsychological tests. "You know, I don't just campaign, I run the world," he added.
Joe Biden's disastrous televised performance during the debate on 27 June clearly exposed the limitations of a candidate who is visibly impaired: attention span, poor memory, slurred speech... All this raises questions about the role of Kevin O'Connor, the official White House doctor, who is undoubtedly part of the dense presidential circle for a reason.
