Lady Gaga: a victim in the face of a lie
This is a rumor that has been following her for fifteen years now.
It was in 2010 that rumors began to circulate in the United States; the singer from New York was supposedly a man, or had a penis. No proof, no foundation. Just “gossip” that has stuck to Lady Gaga’s persona since her rise to fame and the release of her two albums “The Fame” and “The Fame Monster”.
Even though she has not resorted to such actions before, the 38-year-old star is now speaking out about rumors concerning her identity. She does so in the documentary “What's Next? The Future With Bill Gates”, available on Netflix. According to her, it all started with photomontages widely distributed on the internet. If she never paid attention to them, it’s because she never suffered from them. She also says she doesn't feel like "a victim in the face of this lie".
"I've been used to lies being published about me since I was 20. I'm an artist. I find it pretty funny," adds the singer of fanous hit 'Shallow'. In 2011, during an interview with CNN, she refused to deny or confirm the rumor, considering it completely uninteresting. "Why the hell am I going to waste my time and publish a press release to say whether I have a penis or not? My fans don't care and neither do I!"
