Lady Gaga, a slap she didn't see coming
The first "Joker" film was a big hit! And while the second part "Joker: Folie à deux" has just been released, the famous American singer, who plays the role of Lee Quinzel and shares the glory with Joaquin Phoenix, doesn't understand the rather mixed reception that the film has received.
While the film has just been released on the big screen, on October 2nd to be precise, Lady Gaga is outraged by the windwind of criticism it has been subjected to and which she also considers to be unjustified and "relentlessness". In fact, the feature film (directed by Todd Philipps) hasn't won the public over. A disappointment that is felt in the figures since "Joker: Folie à deux" records one of the worst starts of the year 2024, indicates Demotivateur.
But why so much hate?
It's the Daily Mail that reports it; Lady Gaga is said to be deeply affected by the negative comments surrounding the film. Especially since she believes she gave her best and performed exceptionally well that she considers she deserves an Oscar. Information to be taken with a pinch of salt since it comes from one of the singer's acquaintances.
The source even told the Daily Mail: Gaga "is surprised that people don't like the film, following the reviews she got before its release." She thought she would "get an Oscar nomination for this film, especially after the success of the first one and the Oscar won by Joaquin Phoenix."
