With the European Football Championship kicking off last Friday in Munich, Germany, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana decided for once not to put football in the spotlight on the catwalk during their show on Saturday. However, we can assume that their hearts will be beating for the Squadra Azzura.
In recent years, the Ballon d'Or ceremonies have not been inferior to the Cannes Film Festival. Whether you win a trophy or not, you have to stand out under the photographers' flashbulbs. The Italian design duo has not only found a true friend in Lionel Messi, but also an undeniable sales vector for their brand.
David Beckham, of course, went a step further by marrying former Spice Girl Victoria Adams, who took her husband's name to launch her fashion collection in 2005. She won a British Fashion Award in 2011 and dresses the likes of Eva Longoria and Sarah Jessica Parker. And because the world is a small place, she was also the face of Dolce & Gabbana before launching her own design studio.
On Friday night in Milan, to celebrate the kick-off of Euro 2024, Italian brand Moschino did not hesitate to send a few balls onto the catwalk. Goal!
