Titan implosion: Blood-chilling detail
In June 2023, while sinking to the depths of the Atlantic to explore Titanic's shipwreck, the Titan submarine imploded, killing 5 people. An investigation has been opened and is still ongoing in order to clarify the circumstances of the tragedy.
Last Monday, September 16, the US Coast Guard released new images captured as part of the investigation. In one of the videos, the Titan's wreck is visible at the bottom of the ocean. It's in this sequence that some Internet users spotted a small disturbing detail... Around the submarine, we can see a ratchet strap, equipment generally used to secure cargo during transport, reports Demotivateur.
While the reason for the presence of this strap has not yet been officially determined, Internet users are fueling theories. According to some, the strap was used to raise the device to the surface or to lower it underwater. More frighteningly, others believe that it was used to keep the submarine in one piece during expeditions (the water pressure could cause the hull to shrink by several inches).
