RyanAir wants to curb drinking onboard
Ryanair has had enough of the nuisance caused by drunk passengers. As a result, the Irish budget airline wants to introduce strict rules for those who want to drink on board.
There were several incidents involving drunk passengers last summer. Drunk tourists often caused problems when they flew to Ibiza and other party destinations. Ryanair boss, Michael O'Leary, has said he is prepared to introduce a two-drink limit per person on his airline's flights, provided the same rule applies in airport bars. He said this on Sky News.
"If the price of introducing a drink limit at the airport where the problem is occurring is introducing a drink limit on board, we have no problem with that," the Ryanair CEO said. He also stressed that he believes the cause of some passengers getting drunk is to be found at airports rather than airlines.
