Opel confirms its hydrogen ambition

Stellantis, via the Opel brand, presented a prototype of a FCEV fuel cell van. The hydrogen vehicle is increasingly being talked about. And marketing has begun.

FCEV fuel cell technology was highlighted at the Hanover utility show in Germany. Several manufacturers have been interested in it for several years. But few have gone as far as marketing it, for the moment. But things are changing. Stellantis, for example, already has a range of vans. It will develop it by expanding it.

Complete offer

Opel exhibited an H2 prototype: the Movano Hydrogen, based on its cousin Citroën ë-Jumper hydrogen. This 110 kW (150 hp) vehicle runs on a 45 kW cell and an 11 kWh battery. Its tanks store 7.5 kg of hydrogen at 700 bars for a range of 500 km. Stellantis already markets FCEV vans. The group is also planning to soon offer a complete range of hydrogen-powered vans, with ranges ranging from 400 km to 500 km.
