Germans have started border checks again
As announced, Germany reintroduced border controls on Monday, Sept. 16, in the fight against illegal migration and cross-border crime.
It seems that certainly not every vehicle will be checked at the German border, but road users should still take into account possible delays at the border crossing. Indeed, Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) said Sunday that German police will carry out random checks, “flexibly and according to current security requirements.” The scope and duration of the checks will also depend on this, she sounded. Faeser also promised that the checks will be “coordinated” with neighboring countries.
