Fiat stops production of the electric 500
The Mirafiori plant near Turin (Italy) will no longer produce the Fiat 500e (electric). At least for a month. This pause is linked to a drop in demand. A hybrid version of the model is currently being developed.
Sales of electric cars, except in a few countries such as Belgium and the Netherlands, are more than at a standstill. Due to the “serious difficulties” of the electric car market, the Fiat plant in Mirafiori will no longer produce the 500e, at least until October 11. This suspension should not affect the continuity of the factories in operation. The manufacturer has also announced that it's preparing a hybrid variant of the new 500. It should arrive in 2025.
