EU ban on combustion engines in 2035 "illegal"?

A distinguished professor from Augsburg University, in Germany, Dr Martin Kment, has stated that European regulations banning internal combustion engines by 2035 are "illegal" and in violation of EU law.

According to his study, conducted at the request of Uniti, the legislation violates fundamental rights and EU principles through an outdated method of measuring CO2 emissions.

Kment calls for a more modern measurement method that assesses CO2 emissions over the entire life cycle of vehicles. He calls on European politicians to immediately review the current regulations.
