Tsunami alert after magnitude 7 earthquake strikes California
A magnitude 7 earthquake struck northern California on Thursday morning, triggering a tsunami warning.
The epicenter was near the town of Ferndale, but the quake was felt as far away as San Francisco.
California Governor Gavin Newsom has been briefed and has spoken with local emergency services to coordinate the response efforts.
Tsunami alerts have also been issued, warning residents about the potential for large waves, flooding, and associated risks.
